Privacy Policy

Effective October 14, 2026

In short: Kimah has no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. The app only goes online to fetch what you ask for and to check for updates. Crash reports stay on your Mac. If you email us, we use your address only to reply.

This policy covers the Kimah app and the website at kimah.app, both made by JD Productions Inc. (“JD Productions”, “we”, “us”).

The website

Downloads and email

Downloading Kimah doesn't ask for your name or email. If you email hello@jdproductions.io, we keep your address and message only to reply to you. We don't sell or share your address. Email us any time and we'll delete it.

The app

WhatWhat happens
AccountThere is none. Kimah never asks you to sign in.
Analytics and telemetryNone. Kimah doesn't report how you use it.
Links you pasteKimah connects directly to the address you give it, such as a podcast feed, archive.org or Wikimedia Commons, to fetch the media. Those sites see your IP address, as they would in a browser, and their own privacy policies apply. Kimah identifies itself to them as Kimah/1.0.
Web engine (optional)Off until you switch it on. When on, links Kimah doesn't read itself are passed to the copy of yt-dlp you installed, which connects to those sites directly. Kimah sends nothing about you to anyone in the process.
Files you convertStay on your Mac. Conversion happens on your Mac and finished files are saved to your Downloads folder.
Update checksKimah fetches a small update file from kimah.app. The request sends nothing about you beyond what any web request does. You can turn update checks off in the app.
LicenceChecked on your Mac against a signature, with no server involved. A licence key includes the email address it was issued to, and it's stored only on your Mac.
Crash reportsSaved in the app's own folder on your Mac. They are never sent anywhere. You can open them, read them, and choose to send one to us if you want help.

Purchases

Licences are sold through Paddle.com, the merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment details and billing address under its own privacy policy; we never see your card. From Paddle we receive your email address and order details, which we use only to issue your licence, handle refunds and answer support requests. Your email address is written into your licence key, which stays on your Mac.

Children

Kimah is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete any information we hold about you by emailing privacy@jdproductions.io. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we'll honour them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date at the top. If a change affects how your information is used, we'll say so on the website before it takes effect.
